SPEEDCORD SAFETY NUNCHAKU

Cord connections have a tendency to fray quickly if not maintained. Use mountain climbing cord to replace the frayed cord types.

I haved used Nunchaku for over twenty years, this has lead me to develop a few thoughts and ideas, some concerning the stringing of the corded type and moreover the light foam training type.

To this end NEO has developed a SPEEDCORD for light training Nunchaku for the fast and more flowing styles and exercises, however, they have not been designed for combat, lock or blocking applications. Despite this they are durable and well made. They will give you a knock, so like all Nunchaku respect should be given when you are using them. I would use them in the transition from foam to hard wood traditional types, being light but hard, they will build some respect in you for the wood types that will follow in your training with nunchaku. You may just stay with this type if you are just freestyling and not pursuing that "martial way".

These SPEEDCORD Nunchaku come in two sizes 12" and 14"

With two different stringing methods, as standard a 5inch 7mm single cord.

As a custom extra the BiStick method:

This can be setup to create a connection of about 3inch to 7inch, but is set up for 5inch consisting of two separate loops of military grade 7 strand inner core paracord. This set up allows you to disconnect the two shafts easily without having to untie the cord, handy when traveling.

Each shaft has a bearing fitted that runs smoothly and with some speed. Great for flowing freestyle. These are not for combat or blocking, made from nylon and high impact PVC, They should be durable and withstand some knocks.

These SPEEDCORD nunchaku can be restrung if the bearings breakdown using the opposite ends, This is unlikely but I have provided an alternative way if this should happen.

If you think the ends are two heavy these can be removed and replaced by a finishing piece supplied.

If you need more weight, this can be achieved by removing ends and fitting a light spacer a heavier rod and another spacer to secure the rod, maybe wrap the rod to stop any rattles. Replace the caps.

Be careful with all the threads do not over tighten.

Whole and half stick set, So setsu kon.

The whole and two half sticks set, San setsu kon.

The three whole sticks set, San setsu kon.

These can be supplied as a kit if you buy two 12 inch SPEEDCORD Nunchaku you will be able to reconfigure 2x So setsu kon and 1x San setsu kon(whole and two half sticks) and 1x san setsu kon (three whole sticks) See kit below with two nunchaku and two extra half pieces. These are all supplied with the paracord bistick connection as you would need to adjust connection length for the San setsu kon.
